さて、ここは一体どこでしょう？まーーーず、観光客は皆無に等しい奥地です。場所はアレクサンドラからランファーリーへ向かう国道８５号線の途中を北側に入っていくと、ブルー湖という場所があります。その傍らの街、セントパサンズです。この街、ほとんど情報がないですよね。そうですね、恐らくでＮＥＴ環境などもしかしたら無いのかもしれない街です。もちろん携帯電話も電波が入りませんでした。３０分ほどの滞在中、目撃した人は０人。あ、この犬君がいましたね。彼の名前はJorgeです。ゆっくりとした黒い犬で、ボールが大好きです。しばらく彼とボール遊びをしました。ゆっくりとしてとても人なつこい犬でした。常に放し飼い状態です。この犬、ガイドさんの飼い犬か、もしくは友達です。この街を出るときの、顔が超悲しい顔をしていました。

 

これがValucan Hotel です。どうも今も営業しているようです。どんな人が泊まりにくるのかなー？さすが、セントラルオタゴのど真ん中だけあって、かなり荒涼とした空気が漂っています。

Cambrian school です。この学校は1885年設立ということですので今から128年前の建物ですね。この地区では一番古い学校だそうで、この学校で様々な年齢の生徒が、一つの部屋で一緒に勉強をしたのでそうです。入り口には、始業のチャイムの鐘がありましたので一応、鳴らしてみました。今は、管理人さんが入り口を入った部屋におられます。
